The Department of Orthopedics at BAMTH specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system — bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. Whether from trauma, degenerative disease or congenital conditions, our orthopedic team provides surgical and non-surgical solutions to restore function, relieve pain and improve quality of life.

• Fracture management — closed reduction and cast, operative fixation (ORIF, nailing, plating)
• Joint replacement surgery — knee and hip arthroplasty
• Spine surgery — disc prolapse, spinal stenosis, scoliosis correction
• Arthroscopic (keyhole) joint surgery — knee, shoulder
• Sports injury management — ligament and tendon repair
• Paediatric orthopedic conditions — club foot, developmental dysplasia of hip
• Management of bone tumors in liaison with Oncology
• Amputation and prosthetic referral
• Trauma surgery — polytrauma management in liaison with A&E
• Non-surgical management — physiotherapy, splinting, casting, injections

Dedicated orthopedic Operation Theater, fracture clinic, casting room, and collaboration with the Physiotherapy and Radiology departments.
