Overview
The Department of General Medicine at Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital is the cornerstone of our clinical services. Our experienced physicians provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for a wide spectrum of adult medical conditions — from common ailments to complex, multi-system diseases.
What We Treat
Our General Medicine specialists manage conditions including but not limited to: fever and infectious diseases, diabetes mellitus (Type 1 & 2) and its complications, hypertension and cardiovascular risk management, thyroid disorders, anaemia and haematological conditions, liver diseases including hepatitis B and C, kidney disorders, respiratory conditions, gastric and intestinal diseases, neurological conditions, rheumatological and autoimmune disorders, and geriatric health concerns.

- Daily ward rounds by consultant physicians and resident medical officers
- Management of medical emergencies in liaison with the A&E Department

- Coordination with specialist departments for multidisciplinary care
- Integration with the Charity Program for treatment of deserving patients
Our Team
The department is staffed by senior consultant physicians, registrars, and house officers — many holding FCPS, MRCP or equivalent postgraduate qualifications. As a teaching unit of BAMDC, the department also hosts final-year MBBS students and postgraduate trainees.

Dedicated general medicine wards with separate male and female sections, private room options, round-the-clock nursing care, in-house laboratory and radiology access, and a fully equipped emergency referral pathway.
