The Critical Care Unit (ICU) at BAMTH provides intensive monitoring and life-sustaining treatment for the most critically ill patients. Our ICU is staffed around the clock by trained intensivists, critical care nurses and respiratory therapists, ensuring that patients in their most vulnerable moments receive the highest level of attention and expertise.

- Fully equipped ICU beds with continuous multi-parameter monitoring (ECG, SpO2, NIBP, IBP, temperature)
- Mechanical ventilation for patients with respiratory failure
- Central venous access and arterial line monitoring
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for patients with AKI
- Vasopressor and inotropic support for haemodynamic instability
- Nutritional support — enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Point-of-care blood gas analysis
- Infection control with strict isolation protocols for high-risk cases
- 24/7 consultant intensivist on call
Who We Care For
Patients admitted to the ICU include post-operative high-risk surgical patients, polytrauma victims, patients with multi-organ failure, severe sepsis/septicaemia, respiratory failure, acute neurological emergencies, and medical patients requiring close monitoring and organ support.
