Overview
The Department of Oncology at BAMTH provides diagnosis, staging, and medical treatment for patients with cancer. Working in close collaboration with Surgery, Radiology, Pathology and Palliative Care, our oncology team offers a multidisciplinary, patient-centred approach to cancer management — with a strong emphasis on both curative and quality-of-life outcomes.
Cancer Services
- Diagnosis and staging of all major cancer types
- Medical oncology — systemic chemotherapy protocols
- Targeted therapy and immunotherapy
- Hormone therapy for breast and prostate cancer
- Palliative chemotherapy and best supportive care
- Coordination with Radiation Oncology (external referral where needed)
- Cancer pain management
- Coordination with Surgery for surgical oncology procedures
- Coordination with Pathology for tumour histology and biomarker testing
- Counselling and psychosocial support for patients and families
